Most of the students at Desert Oasis ditched their 2nd period for a protest about budget cuts and walked out. Fox 5 News came and was interviewing some of our students. We were just all at the desert across from the school, chanting and it was freezing cold. Everyone was trying to get in the camera. A stupid friend held up a gay marriage sign. Then most of students wanted to ditch but the deans and hall monitors kicked us back to class. I was scared that our teacher was gonna yell at us when we walked back in. She didn’t yell but she was clearly unhappy that we missed half of her class. World history teacher told us that it was a ‘historic event’. Cause next year, the government planned on cutting all sports and stuff. It was pretty cool.
